Ingredients
  

  • 6.5 Cups whole milk
  • 1 cup Samo seeds vrat ke chaawal
  • ¾ - 1 cup sugar as per taste
  • 20-25 almonds slivered
  • 5-6 green cardamom seeds crushed
  • few strands of saffron
  • dried rose petals for garnishing

Instructions
 

  • In a heavy pot, add 1 cup of water and then add milk. Adding water will help it prevent the milk from burning.
  • Wash the rice and mix it with the milk.  Let it come to a boil and then simmer for a few minutes.
  • Add sugar and cardamom and mix well.  At this time, you can add saffron if using.
  • Stirring continuously, add nuts if you are using. Cook it 25 minutes stirring until rice is fully cooked.
  • Let is cool completely and then refrigerate it if serving cold.
  • Garnish it with additional nuts and rose petals before serving.
