Wash mutton chops nicely in plenty of water. Heat oil In a pressure cooker or an open pan. Add pepper corn and fennel seeds followed by chopped onions and sauté till onion becomes translucent .
Add mutton chops and sauté for a min or two. Now add ginger garlic paste and stir so that ginger garlic paste does not stick to the pan and burn. Add tomatoes & sauté for a minute.
Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder sauté for 2-3 mins on medium heat or till masala coats the mutton nicely. Add warm water , bring to a boil and pressure cook till done ( I lower the heat to medium low and simmer for around 10 mins ) or three pressures.
Turn off the heat and allow pressure to drop. (If using an open pan or dutch oven then cook till chops are tender.) Open the cooker and again put it on the stove on medium and
When it starts to boil, add cilantro and garam masala & cook until gravy thickens to required consistency.
Serve hot with white rice , roti , naan or it can be served as a side too.
