Print RecipeJump to RecipeIn my last post, I shared the recipe for Jamaican Jerk seasoning bursting with flavors and a great addition to pretty much any kind of protein. So are you ready for the Super Bowl tonite, the most watched sport in America. And guess what is one of the most common finger foods at a Super Bowl get together?????? You got that right….Chicken Wings!!!!! If you haven’t marinated the wings yet and not sure which flavor to go with then try these Jerk Chicken Wings that are loaded with flavors and won’t be disappointed.
Are you fond of spicy food or not, you can tone the heat up or down based on how you like them? They are so easy to make, you can grill, bake and even fry them depending on what you prefer. Due to the chilly weather, I baked them and then broil a few mins to give that charred look that you get when you grill them. Either way, they are yummilicous.
Why Jerk Chicken Wings are a great party app?
- robust flavors they have to offer
- easy recipe and prep time under 10 mins
- can be baked or grilled to perfection
- can’t stop at one
- awesome finger food
These wings can be made two ways, one where you use the Jamaican Jerk Seasoning as a dry rub along with olive oil. Another way is when you make the wet marinade blended along with onion, green onions, habanero peppers, seasoning, and olive oil.
Ingredients:
- 30 organic party wings (about 3 lbs)
- 4 tbsp grapeseed or olive oil
- 3-4 tbsp Jamaican jerk seasoning or more if needed
- cilantro for garnishing
- lime juice
Directions:
Wash and drain the wings in a colander. Let them sit for a few mins so that all the water is drained completely. If they are not dry and you are in a rush you can pat dry with a paper towel also. Now place the wings in a mixing bowl. add oil and the seasoning over it along with some lime juice. Mix them thoroughly using your hand to make sure that the seasoning smothered all over the wings.
You can leave the chicken wings in the bowl itself or you put it a big zip lock bag. Refrigerate them for 3-4 hours or overnight.
Take the chicken wings out for a little bit before baking it. Preheat the oven at 450 F. Place them in an aluminum tray or a baking sheet. Bake them for 30-45 mins or until done, turning them in between.
Now change your oven settings to broil (high). Let them char to perfection which will take about 10 mins.
Your Jerk Chicken Wings are ready. Place them in a platter or a bowl, squeeze some lime juice and garnish with cilantro. Serve hot with mango salsa or cilantro crema.
