Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there? Any plans for Father’s Day!!! Nothing much here either. Have you thought of how are you going make your husband feel special. My husband has a sweet tooth and and he can have desserts any time of the day. He will eat anything sweet but what can be a better occasion than Father’s Day to make his favorite Eggless Bread Pudding.
An easy recipe which can be ready in less than 45 mins from prep to bake with most of the ingredients from your own pantry. You can use your left over bread as the recipe requires stale bread along with milk, and sugar. Bread pudding is an easy way to make use of your old bread and it is delicious to eat warm topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
Why do I like the Eggless Bread Pudding?
- Because it is easy to put together.
- You can put your stale bread to good use.
- Satisfies your sweet tooth without putting too much effort into it.
- Make it you own way.
I have been avoiding carbs lately. I was telling myself that I will not eat this at all. But the aroma of the Bread Pudding, I just couldn’t resist… After taking the pictures, I was the first one to dig in and it just melted in my mouth. I am sure you probably are thinking can we have the recipe please? Yes of course you can.. Lets see what is all this hype about.
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf stale bread ( used hot dog buns)
- 2 cups milk
- 1.5- 2 tbsp custard powder
- 6-7 tbsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp vanilla essence
- 1.5 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tsp raisins
Directions:
Tear the bread slices into small pieces and set aside. In a pot, add milk, butter, custard powder, and sugar. Whisk it well. Place it on a gas and bring it to boil. This will help the custard to cook a little bit and also will help melt the butter and dissolve the sugar. Keep stirring it using the whisk. Once it comes to a boil, turn the gas off.
Add vanilla essence to it and mix it. Now add the bread pieces into the hot milk. Make sure that the bread is soaked fully. Grease the small ramekins or the baking pan. Pre heat the oven at 350F. Fill each ramekin with the bread mixture up to the top. Add a few raisins on to it and push it in.
Once the oven is ready, Place all the ramekins on a sheet pan and bake it. Bake it for 25-30 mins and you will see the top part is turning slightly brown. Pull it out and let them cool down a bit.
Top it with whip cream or vanilla ice cream and enjoy.
