Its been a while, I don’t know where is the time flying? Need more than 24 hours in a day, I bet that would be less too. There is not enough time ever. I made these Besan Chillas last week and wanted to post it but didn’t find time to write the post.
Besan also know as gram flour, which is made out of chickpeas has higher proportion of carbohydrates, protein, fiber and is gluten free. Besan Chilla is such an easy recipe which can relished at any time of the day. I love anything with besan, it is one of my favorite flours. If you are besan lover like me, you will definitely like these. Don’t forget to give me your feedback when you get a chance to try..
Ingredients:
- 2 cups gram flour (besan)
- 1 small red onion, chopped
- 1-2 green chillies, chopped
- cilantro chopped
- salt to taste
- pinch of turmeric
- 1/4 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp amchoor powder
- water to make the batter
- olive oil
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, add besan and make sure there are not lumps and then add water to it. Mix it well making sure it is a smooth batter. The batter shouldn’t be too thick or thin. A little more water than a pancake batter.
Add chopped onions, green chilies, cilantro, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, amchoor. After adding all the ingredients, mix everything together. Heat the flat pan, preferably non-stick. Add a 3/4 tsp of oil and put a ladle full of batter in the middle of the pan and spread it using the ladle in a circular motion.
Let it cook on slow to medium heat. Then turn on the other side, and drizzle a little oil on the edges. Let it cook for a few minutes. If you like it crispy then you might have to add a little oil so it can cook.
Serve it hot with mint chutney or ketchup as per your preference.
